Vitamin D Stack

A Winter Essential

The Stack

You might be thinking what kind of health stack is related to vitamin D? With this one, we are going back to basics to refresh ourselves on the fundamentals. One, because this stack is still not as widely known as it should be and two, it gives us a chance to check in on our current protocols.

How it works

Vitamin D when taken, needs to be combined with vitamin K. Why? Because the two work together within the body and depend on one another to get their job done. Studies have found that the joint supplementation of D and K might be more effective than consuming either alone for bone and cardiovascular health. Specifically, vitamin K2 works with vitamin D to keep calcium where calcium needs to be. For example, vitamin D is responsible for calcium absorption (to maintain strong bones), and vitamin K2 helps regulate where calcium is deposited in the body - literally directing it towards the bones, where vit D can do its work.

Now that we are approaching winter, vitamin D supplementation is one of the few essential stacks you should consider taking as your sun exposure will be limited.
